The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) has appealed to the Federal Government to accede to current demands of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) by stating the timeline on the promises made.
This, the organisation said it would bring a quick resolution to the ongoing dispute between the striking academic workers union and the government.
MSSN in a statement signed by the Amir (President) of Lagos State Area Unit, Dr Saheed Ashafa, urged the government to embrace this opportunity to end the strike.
Ashafa in the statement forwarded to DAILY POST Tuesday evening, said, “We feel ASUU is considerate enough if they can agree to call off the strike after getting concrete evidence of commitment from the government.
“I don’t see anything difficult for government to come out in clear terms on when they will redeem their pledge.
“They must be factual if they are sincere.
“This is a good opportunity to end this strike. It’s now left for the government to embrace the solution.
“Embracing the offer proposed by the ASUU will show how concerned the government is to educational development in Nigeria.”
