Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, says he is satisfied with his attacking options ahead of Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya.
Rohr stated this on Friday during a press conference in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital.
“We have more different tactical abilities to play in the centre of the attack. Ighalo is a player who did very well in the qualifiers for the World Cup, especially against Cameroon in the goals he scored. He is doing very well in his club, he is scoring more than 20 goals.
“He is here now. He is able to play in the same position and we have already more new players coming with Kalu which means that we need more communication. So we have different tactical responsibilities,” he said.
Nigeria face Libya in the first of the qualifying double-header at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
The Mediterranean Knights host the second leg of the tie four days later in Sfax, Tunisia.
Libya top Group E with four points – same as second-placed South Africa, who will play bottom-placed Seychelles home and away – while the Eagles are third with three points.
Rohr’s team began the qualifiers with a 2-0 loss to Bafana Bafana in Uyo before they returned to winning ways with a 3-0 win over Seychelles in Victoria last month.
Saturday’s match is the first home match for the Eagles after the Russia 2018 World Cup, where they exited in the group stages.
